Stack Messaging
Full-Stack live chat app designed after Slack.
I am a software engineer, ethical technology advocate, human and civil rights advocate, workplace diversity advocate,
and lifelong learner. I want to create tools that help propel humanity into the future and help solve critical problems
facing today's world, not create a product designed to distract and profit off of people. Make technology a tool again!
I am currently looking for opportunities as a full stack, front end, or back end web developer in the Bay Area and
Greater Los Angeles Area.
I have a passion for Javascript and all of its idiosyncrasies. I enjoy working with frameworks like React.js and Redux
for frontend development and Ruby on Rails for backend development although I am currently working in Python as well. My
most recent project is a clone of the messaging app Slack. Being the sole developer gave me a lot of freedom with how I
wanted to structure my app, keeping it as sleek and slim as I could for scalability. I also was able to work with web
sockets which is a very fun technology once you understand how to use it and it laid a lot of the groundwork for the
upgrade in responsiveness and dynamic displays as well as the UI experience in general. Working on this project also
showed me how important being able to adapt and learn on the fly is. Really, the only constant in software is change,
and I love that because it can constantly feed my curiosity and feed my passion.
Additional Skills: Javascript | Ruby | React.js | Redux | Rails | Docker | Node.js | GraphQL | Typescript
